Schedule Update: 31 Games, Madison Square Garden and the Kansas Jayhawks Await the Big Red

A pair of non-Division I teams have announced their 2009-2010 schedules and they include meetings with Cornell. Penn State-Erie (Behrend College) announced it will visit Cornell on December 31 with a 2 p.m. tip off. Clarkson also announced it will visit Cornell on January 11.

Cornell will play 31 games during 2009-2010, the most regular season games since Steve Donahue took over as head coach at Cornell back in 2000.

Cornell should have by far the Ivy League's toughest and most exciting schedule. Cornell will participate in the Legends Classic which includes four guaranteed games against UMass, Drexel, Vermont and Toledo. Cornell will also visit the likely preseason No. 1 team in the nation, the Kansas Jayhawks (televised on ESPN Fullcourt) as well as Alabama, Syracuse, and La Salle. Cornell will also host Seton Hall of the Big East Conference and St. Joseph's of the Atlantic 10. The Big Red will also particpate in Madison Square Garden's Holiday Festival and will face Davidson as well as either St. John's or Hofstra in the consolation/semifinal game. Both games in the Holiday Festival are expected to be televised on the MSG Network.

The full schedule should be released within several days. Below is the projected schedule. All games listed are tentative until formally announced by Cornell Athletics.
