News and Notes: Around the Ivy League

Above, from the Sports Illustrated vault. A 1965 photo of Bill Bradley and the Princeton Tigers and the Cornell Big Red. Below, some news and notes around the Ivy League. Dave Bliss (No. 43, Cornell Class of '65) chases down Bradley.

Syracuse.com reports that another Ivy League School will visit the Carrier Dome this season. Columbia faces Syracuse on November 27, just three days after Cornell squares off with the Orange. Syracuse and Columbia last met in the 2000-2001 season. Columbia will also face DePaul on November 17 in Chicago.

Cornell, Columbia, Penn and Dartmouth are the four Ivy League schools that have yet to announce their schedules. Although, The Cornell Basketball Blog has already posted the Big Red's projected 2009-2010 schedule. We also provided a bit of a preview of Penn's schedule.

The four that have officially announced their finalized schedules are linked below:
  • Harvard will play 28 games, including one Division III game (MIT).
  • Yale will play 31 games, including one Division III game (Albert Magnus)
  • Brown will play 31 games, including two non-Division I opponents (Keene State and Philadelphia Sciences)
  • Princeton will play 28 games, including one non-Division I opponent (possibly Concordia)
In other news, Harvard's Evan Harris and Drew Housman, both class of 2009 grads have signed pro contracts to play in Europe. Harris is headed to Romania while Housman will play in Israel.
