Recruiting News

Below, some recruiting news from around the Ivy League. Above, Cornell's Andre Wilkins gets a talk from Coach Steve Donahue during action at the Syracuse Carrier Dome.

Northstar Basketball reports that Chandler Fraser-Pauls, a member of the class of 2011 at The Pennington School in New Jersey and the AAU team NJABC has a college list for basketball of Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Penn, Princeton, Lafayette, Niagara, Vermont, Davidson, Elon, Lehigh, Amherst (DIII), Bucknell, American, Colgate, and Rider. He does not have any offers yet in basketball while he is simultaenously being recruited by schools for soccer. He attended Cornell's Elite Prospect Camp this summer. Amherst is the only school that wants him for both sports.

ChicagoHoops.com reports that Champaign, Illinois Centennial High School's (AAU: Peoria Irish) Jeff Johnson, a 6'8" forward has offers from Penn, Eastern Kentucky, American, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, IUPUI, and Florida Golf Coast.

RedHawkInsider.com announces that Jon Harris, a 6'7" forward from Twinsburg, Ohio committed to Miami (OH) ayesterday fter getting some interest from Cornell. He was offered by IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Central Michigan, Kent State, Youngstown State, Morehead State, Wright State, Northeastern, and Duquesne. Eastern Kentucky and Boston University were showing interest as well.

Scout.com is reporting that Alex Tiffin, a 6'7" forward at Thousand Oaks High School in California has committed to UC Davis. Tiffin is a skilled and fundamentally sound prospect with the ability to play both on the perimeter and in the paint. Tiffin said the other finalists in his recruitment were Penn and Drake. Cornell showed some interest while Penn extended an offer during the spring.

MinnesotaPreps.com notes that 6'5" Yuriy Malashenko of Jordan, Minnesota has committed to D-II Augustana College. Yale, South Dakota and North Dakota showed interest

Cameron Gunter, a 6'8" forward from Ridley HS in Pennsylvania told NJHoops.com that Penn is his leader among college suitors. He is interested in most of the Ivy schools. Other schools that are looking at him are Northeastern, Siena, Holy Cross and Drexe

Last week the Big Time Bump was held at Hoop Magic Sports Academy. Dartmouth's Jerry Dunn and Princeton's Sydney Johnson were in attendance scouting the talent.
