Recruiting News

Below, some recruiting news from around the Ivy League.

Brown received a verbal commitment this week from Dockery Walker, a 6'7" forward from Westtown High School in Pennsylvania according to Northstar Basketball Blog. Northeastern, Boston University, Holy Cross, Vermont, Penn, and Columbia were his other finalists. RecruitRecon.com notes that Walker had offers from Penn, Columbia, Boston, Fairfield and St. Francis (Pa.).

After visiting the University of Arizona this weekend, Rod Odom told AZCats.com "After the visit, right now I would say Arizona is at the top of my list. I need to sit down and talk with my parents but as of right now, that's what it is." Odom seemed to imply he could potentially cancel his remaining college visits which included a trip to Harvard. The 6'8" Middlesex School (Mass.) forward is Harvard's top recruiting target along with 6'10" Dwight Powell of IMG Academy in Brandeton, Florida. Powell as at Stanford this weekend. Both Odom and Powell are scheduled to visit Harvard this weekend.

NJHoops.com reports that St. Benedict's Prep's (Newark, N.J.) Aaron Brown, a 6'4" wing, has received offers from Harvard, Penn, Miami and Rice.

Joey Gripper, a 6'0" point guard from the Abington Friends School in Pennsylvania said he is currently hearing from Yale, Stanford, Charlotte, Iona, and Elon. He previously had been considering Drexel, Davidson, La Salle, St. Bonventure, Northeastern, Harvard, and Penn.
