Recruiting News

Harvard's recruiting momentum may possibly be running out of steam. After posting the news earlier this morning that Harvard's top wing prospect, Keala King committed to Arizona State, Scout.com published an update on Harvard's top combo guard prospect, 6'2" Pe'Shon Howard out of Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.

Howard previously committed to Harvard during the summer, and announced to Sports Illustrated during August, "If the admission office clears me, I'm going to Harvard." But he has since backed out of his pledge. He explained to Scout.com today, “It [college recruitment] kind of went crazy and picked up after July. In August I was thinking about making a decision, but we decided to just slow down and get ready for high school and make a decision after some visits this year."

Now Howard is thinking about making a decision in the late signing period. “I’m thinking late,” he said. “A lot of schools that are on me now I don’t know a ton about them.”

Howard doesn’t have any visits planned for the near future, but did say he would like to take some during the fall. In addition to Harvard, some schools involved include Stanford, USC and South Florida
