Below, some late day recruiting news...MinnesotaPreps.com reports that numerous coaches were in Minnesota this weekend at the Best Buy Classic to watch Dwight Powell of IMG Academy (Brandeton, FL). Head coaches watching the 6'9" Powell included Johnny Dawkins of Stanford, Kevin Stallings of Vanderbilt, Tommy Amaker of Harvard, and Paul Hewitt of Georgia Tech. Additionally, assistant coaches from Oregon State, Colorado State, Boston College, Northern Iowa, Rice, and Long Beach State were also watching.
MinnesotaPreps also reports that Trevor Gruis, a 6'9" 210 lb. power forward committed to the University of South Dakota over a scholarship offer from South Dakota St. Cornelk, Bucknell, Northern Iowa, North Dakota State, and Minnesota were all monitoring his progress at various points in the recruiting process.
