Some players "play bigger than their height" because of their wing span, frame, athleticism and aggressiveness. One such player is Mark Coury, pictured above, a 6'9" 240 lb. transfer to Cornell from the University of Kentucky. In the photo above, Georgia guard Sundiata Gaines, top left, reaches in to grab the ball from Coury during the first half of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at Alexander Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Saturday, March 15, 2008. The tournament was forced to move to Georgia Tech after high winds damaged the Georgia Dome.

Former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie communicates with Coury during a timeout at the 2008 SEC Tournament. Gillespie was once quoted stating that he wanted Coury to be, "the meanest guy in the SEC." While at Kentucky, Coury always defended the opponent's top frontcourt player.
