Griffin McKenzie had offers from Cornell, Northwestern and Vanderbilt-- all schools consistently ranked among the U.S. News Top 25 Colleges in America. However, the 6'8" power forward from Cincinnati Moeller High School announced today at a press conference at his high school that he will stay close to home and attend Xavier.
NJHoops.com reports that 6'6" Jordan Wejnert is leaving Ramsey, New Jersey and is transferring to Pt. Pleasant Beach High School. He wants to play in the Ivy League but has yet to receive an offer. Schools showing interest include Columbia, Yale, Navy, Assumption, and University of Tampa.
Another player with possible Ivy aspirations is is Derek Retos, a 5’10” combo guard from the Brimmer and May School in Massachusetts. Thus far, he has received some attention from the Patriot League, Ivy League, Northeast-10, NESCAC, and UAA conferences. No offers have been made from the Division I level.
