Coaching Changes Throughout the Ivy

Since April 2009, most of the Ivy League schools have experienced some level of coaching changes within their programs.

For example in April, Harvard assistant coach, Will Wade resigned to take a similar assistant position at Virginia Commonwealth. Wade was part of the Harvard staff that cut five members of the Crimson prior to the start of the 2008-2008 season. Wade was also on the Harvard staff when Harvard's recruiting practices were scrutinized by the New York Times for potential recruiting violations.

Also in April 2009, Penn held its first ever town hall meeting after four players unexpectedly quit the Penn program during the course of the 2008-2009 season. Subsequently, assistant Perry Bromwell left his post to take another position within the University.

During June 2009, three Dartmouth assistant coaches, Shay Berry, Dean Christian and Matt Raidbard all mysteriously resigned. No reason was given for their simultaneous departure.

Also during the summer of 2009, Mark Gilbride, an assistant coach at Yale left New Haven to become head coach of Division III Clarkson University, while Columbia also lost assistant coach Andrew Theokis.
