We Meet Again...

Above, Cornell's Louis Dale, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and the Alabama Crimson Tide's Jamychal Green.

On November 14, Cornell visits the University of Alabama for the season opener for both teams. But more than just a season opener, this is a game of homecomings and reunions.

The game was scheduled as a return home for Cornell senior, Louis Dale. Waiting for Dale and Cornell in Tuscaloosa is former Alabama Mr. Basketball and McDonald's All-American, Crimson Tide sophomore, Jamychal Green, an explosive 6'8" forward.

Alabama is led by new head coach, Anthony Grant, who arrives from VCU.

Cornell head basketball coach, Steve Donahue, Grant and Green, are not exactly strangers. Donahue was one of four coaches that served as "court coaches" for the 2008 USA Men's U18 National Team Trials from July 1-3, 2008 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Grant was an assistant coach on the team while, Davidson College's Bob McKillop served as head coach. Meanwhile, Green was a member of that U-18 U.S. national team.

Meanwhile, Cornell will face McKillop's Davidson College team on December 20 in Madison Square Garden.

Another reunion with a former national team player will be on January 6 when Donahue and Co. meet up with Travis Releford and his Kansas Jayhawks.
