News and Notes: Around the Ivy League

Below, some news and notes from around the Ivy League.
  • Penn Athletics has announced the sale of tickets for men's basketball for the 2009-2010 season. Penn finished second behind Cornell in attendance in Ivy League games a year ago.
  • A writer for the Cornell Daily Sun proclaims, " I am going on the record as calling a second-round berth for Steve Donahue’s team in the 2010 NCAA tournament"
  • ESPN's Andy Katz writes that St. John's does not expect Anthony Mason Jr. to play until the MSG Holiday Festival on December 20-21. Cornell could play St. John's in the second game of the tournament. The Big Red open with Davidson.
  • Below is the Big East Conference coaches' poll. In addition to St. John's, Cornell will face Seton Hall (Nov. 20) and Syracuse (Nov. 24). Several other Ivy League teams will face teams from the Big East this season.
