Alumni News

Cody Toppert ('05) (front row, far right) is wearing No. 33 with MEG Goettingen in German's Budesliga, the country's premier basketball league. Toppert was No. 33 when played with Cornell. Below, some Cornell Basketball alumni news.

John McCord ('97), a 6'6" power forward and former First Team All-Ivy League selection, is playing the 2009-2010 season with Limoges CSP Elite, a member of the French ProB. Limoges is off to a 2-1 start with McCord contributing 9.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Alex Compton ('97) resigned his job earlier this month as one of the assistant coaches of Rain or Shine in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to join the Nokia National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Developmental League, a grassroots developmental basketball organization in the Philippines. Compton, a citizen of Philipines, was a long time veteran of the Philipines professional leagues and earned several All-Star teams bids and was a former league MVP. He is a former All-Ivy selection during the 1996-1997 season after transferring to Cornell from St. Joseph's (PA).

Jeff Aubry ('99), a 6'11" center plays for the Halcones Rojos of the LNBP, the national basketball league of Mexico. Los Rojos are 9-2 on the season and currently sit in 3rd place in the standings. Aubry is aiding the cause with averages of 9.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He formally played in the NBA's D-League.

Ryan Rourke ('06), a 6'8" forward averaged 17.2 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Shiga Lakestars of the Japan Pro BJ League during the 2008-2009 season. He is not returning to Shiga for the 2009-2010 season.

Jason Hartford ('08), a 6'9" forward averaged 21.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game for Huima in Finland's First Division during the 2008-2009 season. Hartford is currently playing for Maxaquene in Maputo, Mozambique.
