Recruiting News

Above, No. 3, Cornell's Anthony Gatlin, a transfer from Centenary College, eligible in 2010-2011. Gatlin showcased his impressive versatility on Saturday during Cornell's Red-White scrimmage. The 6'8" forward/guard can play four positions on the floor. Along with Mark Coury, Max Groebe, Adam Wire and Chris Wroblewski, Gatlin will provide Cornell next season with yet another Ivy League title contending roster. Below, some recruiting news around the Ivy League.

The Wildcat Report notes that Northwestern is involved in the recruitment of 6'2" Pe'Shon Howard, a guard from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Howard previously committed to Harvard, but thereafter pulled his commitment when new schools began to show interest. In addition to Harvard and Northwestern, he is also reportedly involved with Stanford, USC, Maryland, Arkansas, Cal, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech among others. He is reportedly Harvard's top backcourt prospect.

Harvard's top remaining frontcourt prospects appear to consist of Josh Huestis (6'7" Russell HS, Great Falls, Montana), Majok Majok (6'8" Nortfield Mount Hermon School, Northfield, MA), and Ugo Okam (7'1" Montverde Academy, Montverde, FL). Harvard may lead for each of these three prospects, although Huestis may be the only one with the academic profile strong enough for the Ivy League. Huestis is reportedly choosing between Montana, Montana State, Harvard and Stanford.

New England Recruiting Report reports that Boston U. received a verbal commitment from Malik Thomas, a 6'7" swingman from Wadleigh High School in New York. Rivals.com previously reported that he had offers from offers from Columbia, Seton Hall, Drexel, Binghamton, Hofstra, FDU, Robert Morris, Quinnipiac and Stony Brook.
