Recruiting News

Below is some recruiting news from around the Ivy League. Pictured above, Cornell's newest transfer recruit, Anthony Gatlin, a 6'8" forward from Centenary College pulls up for a jump shot on December 13 against Louisiana Tech. Gatlin finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist (2 turnovers) on 4/10 shooting from the floor.

According to the Daily Chronicle (DeKalb, Illinois), Cornell has made an offer to 6'9" 230 lb. power forward, Dave Dudzinksi from Kaneland, Illinois and the AAU program, the Illinois Velocity. According to the Chronicle, Cornell coincidentally made the offer to Dudzinski on his birthday and after seeing the prospect play at an AAU tournament during Memorial Day Weekend. Dudzinski plans on attending Cornell's Elite Prospect Camp later this month. Loyola-Chicago and Western Michigan are also showing interest.

Scout.com reports that UC Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Lehigh, Pepperdine and Princeton are showing interest in mercurial 5'9" point guard, Tim Douglas from national power, Mayfair HS in Lakewood, California.

Although Harvard was not listed in his top five choices, Karl Madison of Laphier High School in Springfield, Illinois, a 6'5" wing listed Harvard among his college suitors according to the Bootleg.com. Others in pursuit include Stanford, Northwestern, Nevada, Vanderbilt, Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Illinois State.


Max Hooper, a 6'6" wing from national power Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Califorinia recently returnd home from a vist to Stanford according to Rivals.com. Hooper is a major target for Ivy League schools, but stiff competition will also come from Notre Dame, Virginia, Cal, Duke, and Saint Mary's. Among the Ivies showing interest are Cornell, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Columbia.


Rivals.com notes that Zach Vraa (Rosemount, Minnesota, Rosemount High School), a 6'3" guard is drawing interest from Harvard, North Dakota State and several Big 10 schools.
