• Steve Donahue is quoted on Seton Hall's Herb Pope. "I think he's a very good player, in terms of basketball IQ," said Cornell coach Steve Donahue. "He can pass, he's dangerous that way. He offensive rebounds. He's just somebody that they haven't had. They've been small and undersized. Now he comes in here." • The Toledo Blade notes, "Still searching for their first win of the season...the [Toledo] Rockets (0-3) travel to Philadelphia this week to participate in the Legends Classic, with games against Cornell on Friday, Drexel on Saturday, and Vermont on Sunday."

• RushTheCourt checks in with the SEC and writes with respect to Alabama, "While Calipari is the dean of the new SEC coaches, there are two new faces to look at in the coaching ranks. Anthony Grant has his Crimson Tide playing pretty well after an embarassing season-opening loss to Cornell... The Anthony Grant era got off to a bumpy start as the Tide were bounced by the Big Red of Cornell, 71-67. Granted, Cornell was an NCAA school last year and are expected to win the Ivy League this year."
