Cornell Visits Northfield Mount Hermon

Above, Cornell head coach Steve Donahue (left) and assistant coach Woody Kampmann (right) scout video on a private charter flight to Boise, Idaho for the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Cornell is the two-time defending Ivy League Champions and expects to earn its third straight bid to the Big Dance this season.

In recruiting news, Cornell assistant coach, Woody Kampmann made his way to Northfield, Massachusetts this week to check in on several Northfield Mount Hermon School players. The Big Red are quite familiar with NMH as current incoming Cornell freshman, Pete McMillan is a former NMH Hogger.

Among those scouted by Kampmann were 6'8" Chris Fitzgerald, 6'4" Josh Elbaum, 6'5" Laurnet Rivard, and 6'2" Joe Sharkey. Cornell is also recruiting their teammate, 6'7" Hector Harold.

Each of these NMH players are members of the class of 2010 with the exception of Sharkey.

With Amherst, Massachusetts just a quick 30 minute ride away from the NMH campus, these potential Cornell recruits have an opportunity to see the Big Red in action when Cornell participates in the Legends Classic on November 18. The Big Red face the UMass Minutemen in the opening round with a second game guaranteed game in Amherst likely against either Drexel or Vermont.
