Below... some Ivy League recruiting news. Above, the Ivy League's most dangerous shooter, Cornell's Ryan Wittman.
NorCalPreps.com reports that 6'11" 190 lb. Mike Kurtz from Roseville, California and Woodcreek High School has committed to UC-Davis. Kurtz reportedly planned to visit Penn, but the visit never happened. He joins fellow Californian at UC-Davis, 6'8" Alex Tiffin, another former Penn prospect.
GoldenSports.net interviewed Sibley High School's Jake Kreuser, a 7'0" post player from Minneapolis. Kreuser informed GoldenSports that scholarship offers from Wisconsin Green Bay and Santa Clara were pulled off the table after Kreuser withheld making an early commitment. The big man is down to just one scholarship offer, North Dakota State, but plans on taking an official visit to Saint Louis during the weekends of either October 16 or 23. Kreuser, an excellent student, is also reportedly a recruiting target of Cornell. The Big Red should be a serious contender for his services as Cornell can offer an Ivy League education and an opportunity to earn immediate playing time during the 2010-2011 season on an NCAA Tournament caliber team.
We are hearing that Penn and Harvard are in a major recruiting battle for Ugo Okam, a 7'1" 235 lb. center from Florida. Athletic and big, but bit of a project, numerous high majors are interested, including Vanderbilt, Stanford, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers, as well as mid majors such as Loyola Marymount.
