Scout.com reports that Demon Brooks, a 6'6" forward from Huntersville (N.C.) Hopewell H.S. committed to Howard University of the MEAC after receiving Ivy League interest.
APSUGovs.com is reporting that Meiko Lyles, a 6'3" guard out of the University School in Nashville has interest from Columbia and Princeton, with offers from has offers from Missouri State and Georgia State. In addition, Austin Peay, Nevada, Belmont, Tulane, and Murray State, are all showing varying degrees of interst.
ScarletReport.com reports that Austin Carroll, a 6'3" guard received a scholarship offer to Rutgers during his campus visit. He is also considering Harvard. “I’m kind of up in the air,’’ Carroll said. “I have to come back and talk to my parents and take it all in and see what happens. It was an interesting thing to get a scholarship offer from a Big East school, and the visit definitely upped them on my list from what I saw. I really liked coach (Fred) Hill and (assistant) coach (Darren) Savino.’’
Bethlehem, Pa. and Liberty High School 6'4" guard, Darrun Hilliard is receiving significant Division I attention. Liberty coach Chad Landis told the Morning Call of Allentown, ''You have a handful of Ivy League schools and there have been scholarship offers from James Madison, VCU, Delaware and Temple has offered. La Salle is interested. Northwestern, Baylor, and Fairfield have all had coaches in the gym. The list is long. Sometimes it's tough to keep up.''
