- Rivals.com notes that former Cornell assistant Zach Spiker "just accepted arguably the toughest job in college basketball." Less than two weeks before the start of preseason practice, Spiker has taken over as Army's coach.
- Rivals and Yahoo are publishing "The Hunt for the Most Interesting Team in the World", a countdown of 65 intriguing teams for the 2009-2010 season. Seton Hall is listed at No. 56. The Pirates visit Cornell on November 20. In fact, Rivals lists the Cornell game as one of Seton Hall's toughest two games of the season. Rivals.com also profiles the Pirates and its talented roster.
- Cornell's November 24 opponent, the Syracuse Orange believe they will remain competitive because of Iowa State transfer, Wes Johnson.
- The Cornell Daily Sun and the Binghamton Pipe Dream are in a major word war over the problem's with Binghamton's basketball program.
- The Kansas Jayhawks, Cornell's January 6 opponent also has their share of disciplinary issues.
- In recent years, Cornell has taken in transfers from high-major programs such as Kentucky, USC, and Colorado, not to mention some quality mid major programs such as UMass, St. Bonaventure, Wofford Centenary, but make no mistake, these guys are serious student athletes.
- Harvard Athletics promotes Jeremy Lin's inclusion by ESPN.com's Fran Fraschilla as one of the country's most versatile players. We commented that Louis Dale of Cornell is the league's most versatile.
