With its best regular season behind them, Mike Anderson and the Missouri Tigers hope to continue its incredible run into the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers a three seed takes on Ivey League champion Cornell a 14 seed at 2:00 p.m. Central time in Boise Idaho.

“We have approached this season one day and one game at a time,” Anderson told the media during a press conference in Boise on Thursday. “We will continue that approach through the NCAA Tournament. We have to survive and advance. This is a one game season for us from this point on.”

Anderson has the Tigers playing perhaps their best basketball of the season; Mizzou apparently took the same approach into the Big 12 Tourney where they ran through its competition, winning the tournament in three games.

“We just have to stay consistent with we have been doing,” Senior DeMarre Carroll explained. “If we do that we will be ok. We just have to focus on Cornell and no one else.”

The Tigers are coming off three back to back games this past weekend, while Cornell on the other hand has had over two weeks off to prepare for the NCAA Big Dance.

“We expected to be playing a team that like to push the tempo,” Cornell Coach Steve Donahue said. “We didn’t realize we were going to face a team that loved doing that for the full forty minutes of the game. Hopefully we will be ready.”

Cornell won its league for the second straight year and will be making back to back appearances in the NCAA.

“This is a first time experience for us, I’m sure we will have some nervous energy,” said J.T. Tiller. “We just have to play our game, if we do that everything should work itself out.”

The winner of this game will face the winner of Utah State vs. Marquette contest that will be played earlier Friday morning.

Missouri is 28-6 on the year, placing third overall in the Big 12 regular season. The Tigers won the Big 12 Tournament after being a No. 3 seed, now only if the Tigers can take the NCAA 3 seed to a national title, in the big dance anything is possible.
