From the Denver Post:
It really shouldn’t feel odd being in Boise for the NCAA Tournament. Boise State is known as a football school, but this is the eighth time its hosted a basketball regional.
Taco Bell Arena — yes, Boise is Taco Bell’s headquarters — has blue and orange seats and has a capacity of 12,380 but Boise State averaged only 4,105 fans this season. Thursday’s free practice sessions drew virtually no one.
The arena doesn’t have quite the allure as Bronco Stadium, where the blue football field has become famous enough to earn a tour from Cornell’s basketball team Thursday.
Maybe they should check out Boise State’s tennis courts. They’re blue, too.
Cornell has had only three players in the NBA and none since Ed Peterson for the Syracuse Nationals and Gene Berce for the Tri-City Blackhawks, both in 1950.
