- In Andy Katz's ESPN Weekly Watch for "Performances You Might Have Missed," Katz writes, "In Cornell's 104-98 shootout win at Bucknell, Big Red big man Jeff Foote contributed 28 points and 18 rebounds."
- Andy Katz also writes in ESPN's College Basketball Nation blog, "A player that continues to be overlooked nationally: Jeremy Lin of Harvard. All he did was go for a career-high 30 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 79-73 loss at Connecticut. The race between Cornell’s Ryan Wittman and Lin for Ivy League player of the year will be quite a chase... Speaking of Cornell, the Big Red beat Saint Joseph's by 12 on Sunday. That means Cornell now has wins at Alabama (SEC), at UMass (A-10), at Drexel (CAA) and over St. Joe’s (A-10), all higher-rated conferences than the Ivy."
- SportsIllustrated.com's Seth Davis tweets, "Can't wait to see those Cornell-Harvard games in the Ivy." He then wrote on CNNSI.com, "It has been a while since Penn and Princeton staged a dual for supremacy in the Ivy, but it looks like Cornell and Harvard are going to give us an ample substitute. Cornell, which has road wins at Alabama and UMass, beat Saint Joseph’s on Sunday to improve to 7-2, while Harvard played UConn tough in Gampel Pavilion before losing 79-73. Cornell and Harvard also have two of the better mid-major guards in America in Ryan Wittman and Jeremy Lin, respectively."
- The Bleacher Report writes, "The Ivy League doesn’t usually come to mind when you think of great matchups but two individual battles have to be noticed this week. On Wednesday an otherwise “who cares” matchup between Cornell and Bucknell featured a great matchup between Big Red center Jeff Foote (28 points, 18 rebounds) and Bison center Mike Muscala (off the bench with 20 points and 7 rebounds). Sunday’s Harvard-Connecticut had a little more spotlight quality to it thanks to a close game and another great matchup between Crimson guard Jeremy Lin (30 points, 9 rebounds) and Husky guard Jerome Dyson (24 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists). Cornell and Harvard is going to be a nip-and-tuck battle all year for Egghead League prominence."
- Slam Magazine writes, "By the way, has anyone noticed that Cornell is continuing to look very, very good? After dropping a pair of games to Seton Hall and Syracuse (a game that was closer than 88-73 would indicate) the Big Red have rolled off five straight W’s, including a 78-66 win over Saint Joe’s yesterday. Four players are averaging in double figures in a balanced offensive attack and I’m ready to go ahead and say not only does this team win the Ivy League running away, the get through the schedule unscathed."
