Cornell Basketball in the News

Marc Van Burck, far right, the 6'11" 255 lb. rising senior center was referenced in an article on April 14 appearing in The Colorado Daily.

Van Burck transferred to Cornell a year ago from the University of Colorado, via a one-year stint at Salt Lake Community College. The Daily Camera of Boulder, Colorado also mentioned Van Burck during February 2009.

Incredibly, Van Burck actually played more minutes as a freshman for Big 12 member, University of Colorado then he did at Cornell last season as a junior. Not only did he play more minutes for the Buffs, he did so despite a foot injury that kept him sidelined for nearly two months during the 2007-2008 season. His Colorado playing time included 9 minutes vs. Kansas State and 6 minutes against Missouri, both during late February 2008.

Now with a year of experience under his belt in the Cornell program and continued hard work, during the upcoming summer and fall months, Van Burck just might find a way to increase his playing time for the Big Red as a senior. After all, you can't teach size. and MVB has a lot of size. Further, as Adam Wire and Brian Kreefer both showed Cornell fans this season, the Big Red coaching staff rewards hard work and improvement. bBoth players played sparingly during 2007-2008, but witnessed substantially increased roles last season.
