Do not let Cornell's 8-2 record in the Ivy League fool you. For the most part, the Big Red have been dominating their Ivy opponents.
Without a single senior in the starting line-up, in Cornell's eight Ivy wins, the Big Red won seven of those games by double figures, including defeats of Brown by blowout margins of 32 and 40, knocking off Yale by 28, and Harvard by 21. Through ten games this season, Cornell is outscoring its opponents by 13.0 points per game, up from a year ago when Cornell finished the Ivy League 14-0 and outscored opponents by 12.7 points per game.
If the Big Red win the Ivy League championship this season, Cornell will not be the first Ivy League champion in recent years to suffer multiple defeats in conference play. Below, Ivy League Champions since 2000 with two or more conference defeats.
2000-2001-Princeton (11-3)
2001-2002-Penn (11-3), Princeton (11-3), Yale (11-3) (Co-Champions)
2005-2006-Penn (12-2)
