Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com names Ryan Wittman the Mid Major Player of the Week. He also called Alabama the runner-up for worst loss of the week. Goodman writes:
MID-MAJOR PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cornell's Ryan Wittman — The son of former NBA player/coach Randy Wittman had 23 points and was 5-for-8 from beyond the arc in the team's win at Alabama.

WORST LOSS: This wasn't quite as easy as it looks as there was certainly some competition. Alabama dropped a game to an Ivy League school, but new Crimson Tide coach Anthony Grant didn't inherit a wealth of talent and Cornell is loaded for an Ivy leaguer. Anyway, we're going with Mississippi State, a club many had in their preseason top 25 (not us), who dropped a game at home to Rider.
