News and Notes: Around the Ivy League

Fans of Cornell Basketball can always catch a link to The Cornell Basketball Blog from the Big Red's team page on CNNSI.com. Below some news and notes from around the Ivy League.
  • Scrimmages this Saturday include Penn vs. Coppin State, Harvard vs. Quinnipiac and Cornell vs. Navy (at Temple University in Philadelphia).
  • Harvard is receiving a visit from the NBA's Taylor Griffin this week at practice. Griffin was coached by Harvard assistant, Yanni Hufnagel when they were both at Oklahoma. Hufnagel is a Cornell graduate (School of Industrial and Labor Relations) and a former team manager for the Big Red. Griffin is in Boston for the Suns-Celtics game.
  • Princeton has added video bios to each of its player pages. Very nice feature from PU Athletics.
  • The Daily Pennsylvanian reports on the choice of Zach Rosen as Penn's co-captain for the 2009-2010 season.
  • Brown's Matt Mullery and Columbia's Pat Foley were both selected as among the 30 finalists for the Lowe's Senior C.L.A.S.S. Award. "An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School™, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities."
  • We have updated our Blue Ribbon Yearbook page. In that page we provided links to the previews to each of Cornell's opponents.
