Recruiting News

Below, some recruiting news from around the Ivy League...

Ted Silary of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that Rakeem Brookins, a 5'11" combo guard from Roman Catholic High School chose Tulane over La Salle, Penn, Boston U., Delaware and Niagara. Brookins said "the distance to Tulane wasn't any kind of issue. I felt comfortable with the team and staff and the area in general. New Orleans is beautiful. Plus, Tulane has a great business school."

A source told The Cornell Basketball Blog this week that Harvard had visits last weekend from Josh Huestis (Russell HS) Great Falls, MT 6-7 and Brice Kofane (Miller School) Charlottesville, VA 6-8. But the big weekend for the Crimson is September 25 with the following reported visitors.

  • Austin Carroll (Worcester Academy) Worcester, MA 6-3
  • Pe'Shon Howard (Oak Hill Academy) Oak Hill, VA 6-3 (not confirmed visit)
  • Ugo Okam (Monteverde Academy) Monteverde, FL 7-1
  • Rod Odom (Middlesex School) Concord, MA 6-8/195
  • Dwight Powell (IMG Acad. of Brandeton FL), Ontario, Canada 6-8

In addition, Harvard commit, Matt Brown is expected to visit as well on September 25.
